Wow! We’ve received an award: 2012 Blog of the Year!
I can’t tell you how excited and honored I am to be the recipient of this award. Zoey’s story was nominated by our friend Bailey Boat Cat who we’ve gotten to know solely because of our shared love for our cats and telling their stories! Relatively new to blogging, it’s been so much fun to connect with all of you and read your stories too. I follow so many of you and am excited when a new post shows up in my inbox…I read your posts first when clicking through my email and hurry to “like” each post so that you know I’ve stopped by. This blogging experience is fun and fulfilling and I thank you for thinking that Zoey and I are special enough to be recognized with an award.
In keeping with the rules for accepting this award, I am also nominating some blogs that make me smile on a daily basis. Please visit them:
Our Dachshund Sophie: Your story, your love for Sophie, and your journey with her paralysis gives me renewed hope that other people, other families, will find the strength and love within themselves to care for handicapped pets like our girls. I am thankful each day to have connected with you.
Bailey Boat Cat: I am envious of your experiences at sea and find myself daydreaming about what life might be like one day if I am so lucky to own a boat and take my fur-babies aboard to travel the world with the sun as our guide and the waves as our lullaby. Thanks for nominating us for this award too!
Talkin’ Shit: Your honesty, humor, and wit turn everyday experiences into newsworthy stories. I always enjoy reading what you share, Nick.
Smell My Paw: I laugh out loud when reading KDD’s latest post, and for that I thank you.
Meow Hear This & Texas, a cat in New York: Your cats are beautiful and your love for them makes me so happy. Knowing that there are people like you in the world, caring for and loving your babies with such compassion and acceptance, reminds me that I am not alone. Thank you, too, for answering my questions/offering suggestions/and being so great!
Contemplating Beauty: Gina, your passion for learning and willingness to explore the unknown is one of the things I love most about you. You are a beautiful person with a big heart and unique gentleness to you.
In honor of this exciting achievement, I am sharing a treasured photo of my beloved Mya, sprawled out on my grandparent’s couch, and my littlest baby, Zoey, snuggled up on the dog bed. This photo was taken in August 2008, shortly after I moved back to Michigan from Florida and lived with my grandparents for a few weeks. See the old sheets and blankets on the couch? Great-grand-dogs get special treatment!
The ‘rules’ for the 2012 Blog of the Year award are simple:
1 Select the blog(s) you think deserve the ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award
2 Write a blog post and tell us about the blog(s) you have chosen – there’s no minimum or maximum number of blogs required – and ‘present’ them with their award.
3 Please include a link back to this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award – http://thethoughtpalette.co.uk/our-awards/blog-of-the-year-2012-award/and include these ‘rules’ in your post (please don’t alter the rules or the badges!)
4 Let the blog(s) you have chosen know that you have given them this award and share the ‘rules’ with them
5 You can now also join the award’s Facebook group – click ‘like’ on this page ‘Blog of the Year 2012’ Award Facebook group and then you can share your blog with an even wider audience
6 As a winner of the award – please add a link back to the blog that presented you with the award – and then proudly display the award on your blog and sidebar … and start collecting stars…
Yes – that’s right – there are stars to collect!
Unlike other awards which you can only add to your blog once – this award is different!
When you begin you will receive the ‘1 star’ award – and every time you are given the award by another blog – you can add another star!
There are a total of 6 stars to collect.
Which means that you can check out your favorite blogs – and even if they have already been given the award by someone else – you can still bestow it on them again and help them to reach the maximum 6 stars!
